The installation offers an innovative form of navigating a media space. The installation consists of two large-format video projections which are shown on the screens placed at the opposite ends of the gallery. Using a wireless headset, the customized system tracks the viewer-user’s positions and movement in space and, accordingly, plays video sequences stored on the laser disc (crowded street junctions in Chicago, and a military radar base in Jamaica). The complexity of the narrative perspective corresponds to the then state-of-the-art computer imaging techniques, which make it possible to navigate the two-dimensional image like the three-dimensional space.
