CAVE (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment)
Carolina Cruz-Neira, Tom DeFanti, Daniel J. Sandin
1991
The installation creates a virtual reality environment in the form of a projection inside a cubic room whose walls, floor and sometimes also the ceiling are screens. Thanks to the use of advanced computer technology, multifaceted projections and numerous devices sending and processing signals, the illusion of being immersed in the images, synchronized both with each other and with actions taken by the spectators, has been created.
